Q4 11 HTC Too Many SKUs Spoil the Broth

Download Report

Report Summary:

HTC had a difficult fourth quarter as their high-end smartphones, particularly in the US, failed to compete effectively against vendors such as Apple and Samsung. Revenue declined -24% sequentially, indicating a sudden fall from grace by the Taiwanese smartphone specialist after two years of rapid growth. Going forward, HTC plans on decreasing its number of stock-keeping units (SKU), while focusing on improved innovation in the high-end of the market and developing a presence in emerging regions, particularly across the BRIC countries.
