Samsung shipped 72.3 million smartphones worldwide in Q3 2018, down -13% YoY. Weaker demand of Galaxy S9 flagships and low end smartphones mainly caused the modest performance in spite of solid launching of Note 9. In addition, profitability keeps falling due to incremental changes on flagships and the increased marketing spend. Now, Samsung must show something innovative in the coming weeks.
