HTC’s global smartphone shipments plunged -58% YoY in Q1 2016. The firm continued to lose money at an alarming rate for the fourth consecutive quarter. HTC continued to shed volume in most major regions and there are no signs of recovery anytime soon. The vendor is now putting a lot of faith into virtual reality tech to re-attempt a turnaround -- but this will not be easy, either.
