Smartphone shipments improved 3% annually in North America during the second quarter of 2015. Apple remained well ahead of Samsung and LG, as volumes for its current generation of iPhones remain strong, even as they slowed somewhat sequentially, as they typically do in the second quarter. Android lost a few points of share from a year earlier, as Apple iOS shipments continued their steady improvements. Meanwhile, Microsoft remained ahead of BlackBerry as the region's third largest platform.
