Strategy Analytics tracked global smartphone shipments (sell in) fell -16% MoM and -7% YoY in January 2020 mainly thanks to seasonality and weaker demand in China. Sales (sell through) to end users posted a -13% annual decline too. Global smartphone market is back to the contraction status. Samsung top both shipment and sales chart this month, followed by Apple, Huawei, Xiaomi, OPPO and vivo by both shipment and sales volume.
