Handset shipments in Germany fell -7% annually in Q3 2011, the second consecutive quarter of shrinkage. As elsewhere in Europe, Samsung extended its lead in Germany to maintain the number one spot, thanks in no small part to the continued popularity of the Galaxy S2 flagship model. While Nokia once more suffered a large YoY fall, it stabilized market share sequentially and held second place. Motorola is showing surprisingly strong growth in the country, increasing its market share eleven-fold in the past year. This report tracks quarterly handset vendor market share at major carriers in Germany, including T Mobile, Vodafone, O2 and E-Plus, from Q1 2009 to Q3 2011.
