China smartphone shipments dropped -5% YoY in Q2 2023. It has been the worst second quarter in the past ten years. The encouraging side is that the decline rate narrowed down in Q2 from the previous quarters, signaling the stabilization and the start of the recovery cycle of China smartphone market in the upcoming quarters. Vendor wise, OPPO/OnePlus continued to lead in China smartphone market in Q2 2023 by volume, followed closely by vivo, Honor, Apple, and Xiaomi in sequence.
