Device User Evaluation Motorola Atrix & Lapdock

Download Report

Report Summary:

The Motorola Atrix Lapdock is perceived as a useful ‘smart accessory’ by participants who used the device for web browsing, media consumption, placing a phone call and sending an SMS. Participants found the ability to undertake phone based tasks such as text messaging via a laptop-type interface to be very useful. They also liked the ability to view multimedia files from their phones on a larger screen without the need to transfer them. However, the inconsistent HMI of the Lapdock when in Entertainment Center mode was a source of frustration. Despite the innovative functionality of the Atrix Lapdock, most participants indicated that they would be unlikely to purchase a dock that only acts as a ‘dumb-terminal’, since they could purchase a netbook for a similar price.
