Japan Smartphone Vendor Marketshare by Operator Q3 2012
Japan smartphone shipments reached record volumes in Q3 2012. NTT Docomo is driving the growth with healthy demand for its Xi-branded LTE network and smartphones. Samsung and Apple gained traction in the market with solid performances. Domestic vendors, like Sharp and NEC, bounced back from a lackluster performance in the prior quarter. Fujitsu continued to slip. This report tracks smartphone vendor marketshare by quarter at all major operators in Japan, including NTT Docomo, Softbank and KDDI. The report can be used by device vendors, component makers, content developers, vehicle manufacturers and others to identify winners and losers by carrier in the high-value Japanese mobile market.
