Global Handset Vendor Marketshare by Country Americas Q2 2011
During the second quarter of 2011, Brazil and Mexico surged to record levels. Nokia strengthened its number one handset position in Brazil, the most important country in Latin America. Chinese brands Alcatel, ZTE and Huawei grew distribution and delivered solid results in Mexico, placing tight pressure on Nokia, Samsung and others. Samsung maintained its leading position in the United States, as Apple and HTC ramped up their output. In Canada, Apple overtook RIM in its home market for the first time. This report tracks handset shipments and vendor marketshare by quarter for 4 major countries in North and South America from 2009 through Q2 2011. They are Brazil, Canada, Mexico and USA.
