Q2 12 Samsung Record Revenues but Losing Share in Feature Phones
Samsung shipped 93 million handsets worldwide in Q2 2012, rising well above the industry average at 26% annually. Its handset revenues surged to record levels. The Galaxy smartphone sub-brand is proving wildly popular. However, Samsung’s feature phone marketshare continues to decline. The vendor is losing ground to a resurgent Nokia and this will need to be addressed before it becomes a problem.
