Samsung shipped 92.8 million handsets worldwide in Q1 2017, up slightly by 1% YoY. The Korean vendor posted its lowest global handset average selling price (ASP) in almost 3 years due to a higher mix of lower-priced devices, affected by weakening momentum of S7 devices, no support from the (recalled) Note 7 and a delayed launch of the S8 / S8+. However, we expect the strong sales of Galaxy S8 flagships worldwide in Q2 2017 will put the vendor back on track.
