As was widely expected, Apple introduced the iPhone 4 on June 7th at the World Wide Developer’s Conference. The new iPhone is largely an evolutionary upgrade to its predecessors. While some of the upgraded specifications merely put Apple on par with its competitors, a few – high resolution display, 720p video recording, and gyroscopic sensor – make it stand above the rest. As Apple prepares its handset for initial shipments in late Q2 2010, the remaining question is what content providers, application developers, and users will do to take advantage of the evolving hardware.
