Global handset revenues exceeded US$55 billion again in Q3 2011. Shipments grew 15% from last year and revenues grew 18%. The Handset Average Sales Price (ASP, wholesale price from the OEM to the operator) fell slightly. Samsung has become the number one vendor in terms of revenue surpassing Apple for the first time. Samsung also leads the way for the traditional vendors as performance slightly improves.
