Download Report

Report Summary:

Smart home exhibits at the 2019 Consumer Electronics Show mushroomed from a few hundred in 2018 to over a thousand. The array of devices introduced continued to expand offering consumers in 2019 a wider assortment of use cases to entice them to taste the benefits of smart home solutions. The market has clearly moved from a focus on lighting controls and energy management to one embracing video doorbells, smart locks and cameras for both indoor and outdoor surveillance. Newer devices such as moisture detectors and water shutoff valves are poised to become significant categories.

Virtually all smart home devices on the show floor worked with one or more of the popular digital assistants. Having this capability is now table stakes for market entry.
