Shipments of Connected TV Devices in North America grew by 3% to reach 21.6 million units in Q1 2023, despite macroeconomic fluctuations and high inflation. A healthy 32% year-on-year growth in the gaming console category contributed to this growth and helped offset the decline in Streaming Media Players (-3%) and Smart TVs (-1%). Sony overcame its prolonged supply constraints with 4X growth in shipments of its PlayStation 5. Amazon Prime Day in July and the holiday season in Q4 will boost consumer demand. However, as the economic headwinds continue, we anticipate the market to be relatively flat in 2023.
