Samsung posted record Q4 revenue, largely driven by its booming Mobile Communications business as it competes with Apple in the high-end smartphone and tablet markets. Although revenues declined for the Consumer Electronics (primarily consisting of the Flat Panel TV business) and Display Panel segments on an annual basis, profitability improved for both. And, in a segment not accustomed to yearly growth in recent history, the Semiconductor segment showed signs of recovery in Q4.
