Shipments of Connected TV devices to Western Europe grew by 28% in Q2 2021 driven by strong demand for Smart TVs and Game Consoles. Smart TV sales across the region were up by more than 35% compared to Q2 2020 which was itself impacted by pandemic related disruptions to consumer spending patterns. The European Football Championships and Tokyo Olympics created a further boost to Q2 demand as consumers took advantage of promotional deals and many buyers will have brought forward purchases from later in the year. Sales of game consoles were also buoyant in spite of well documented supply constraints for Sony's PlayStation 5.
