Report Summary:

The North American market for connected TV devices continued to contract in Q4 2022 following the record demand levels during the Covid-19 pandemic. Unit shipments were down 2% year-on-year to 39 million although this is still ahead of pre pandemic levels. High inflation and rising energy costs are also weighing heavy on the market as consumers adjust their spending priorities. The game console market had a strong quarter as supply constraints eased and vendors were able to build inventory back up while the Smart TV market enjoyed a small uptick in growth, reversing a six quarter long period of decline.

This report provides quarterly shipment and installed base vendor shares for North America across the four Connected TV Device categories of Smart TVs, Smart Blu-ray players, IP-enabled Game Consoles and Digital Media Streamers. The report also provides market shares by operating system for Smart TVs and the wider Connected TV landscape. It is a valuable tool for all stakeholders who want to track the Connected TV Device footprint of the world's major Consumer Electronics brands.
