Global Connected TV Device Vendor Market Share Q4 2018

Global Connected TV device shipments grew 7% annually in Q4 2018 and broke through the 100 million unit barrier in a single quarter for the first time. The Smart TV market had a strong quarter with shipments up 18% year over year as Smart TVs accounted for 72% of total TV shipments. Shipments of Game Consoles grew 2% as Nintendo enjoyed a record quarter for its popular Switch console which offset shipment declines for Sony PlayStation and Microsoft Xbox. There are now 1.1 billion Connected TV devices in use around the world, a third of which are either a Sony or Samsung branded device. 

This report provides global quarterly shipment and installed base vendor shares across the four Connected TV device categories of Smart TVs, Smart Blu-ray players, IP-enabled Game Consoles and Digital Media Streamers.
