Sales of Connected TV devices continue to soar driven by strong demand for smart TVs and dedicated media streamers as well as the ongoing revival of Nintendo's fortunes in the game console market. Global shipments of Connected TV devices grew 9% during Q3 2018 to reach 65.2 million units bringing the overall number of such devices installed across homes worldwide to 1.1 billion. Samsung was the leading vendor during the quarter in terms of units shipped followed by Sony and LG but Roku, Amazon and TCL have made the biggest annual gains.
