Global Consumer Electronics device wholesale revenues are now forecast to fall by just 1.3% in 2020 to $702 billion. This represents an improved outlook over our July 2020 forecast. The market for Consumer Electronics devices has held up remarkably well during a year of unprecedented disruption in the industry. Home entertainment products including media streamers and game consoles have sold particularly well, while the shift to home based learning and working has resulted in a demand boom for tablets and notebook PCs. Smartphone and Flat Panel TV markets have recovered much faster than expected and while revenues for both categories will decline this year, they are expected to finish the year in a much healthier position than previously feared.
This report forecasts major Consumer Electronics device shipments, installed base, revenues and ASPs globally and across six major regions from 2012 to 2024 as a total of all devices and those that are IP-enabled. Detailed forecasts are provided for a basket of 19 product categories spanning TV and Video, Computing, Gaming Hardware, Home Audio, Digital Cameras and Smartphones. The report updates the Connected CE Device report published in July 2020.
