Production of cellular user equipment fell slightly in 2018 with declines in grey market devices, UMTS, and GGE. The continuing but slowing growth of LTE device shipments made up for this, and the baseband market grew at a modest 2.7 percent despite the headwinds. In 2022, LTE will peak, and 5G will move to the front as the growth engine for the baseband market.
This report contains SA's most recent forecast of cellular baseband shipments, market revenue and ASPs for six major air interfaces, including 5G, through 2023. The report includes market share projections for the leading baseband suppliers.
