The global cellular baseband processor market declined by -4.3 percent year-on-year to $21.3 billion in 2015.  Revenue from LTE basebands registered 30 percent year-on-year growth while all other baseband segments declined significantly. Qualcomm, MediaTek and Spreadtrum grabbed the top three total revenue share rankings in 2015. MediaTek and Samsung LSI gained LTE share in 2015, as MediaTek capitalised on its China LTE momentum, while Samsung LSI grabbed multiple flagship and mid-range LTE design-wins at Samsung Mobile.
