Apple A-Series Apps Processor Tracker 2017: Revenue Growth Outpaces Shipment Growth



Report Summary:

Apple's revenue from its A-series applications processor (AP) revenue registered 8 percent year-on-year growth while shipments registered a subdued 2 percent year-on-year growth in CY 2017.  Apple's A-series APs are used in iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, iPod Touch and HomePod.  2017 was the best so far for Apple in terms of A-series chip revenue but was only the third largest year in terms of unit shipments.  Strategy Analytics believes that higher shipments of 10 nm-based A10x Fusion and A11 Bionic boosted Apple's A-series AP average selling prices (ASP) in 2017.  The A-series APs, first released in 2010, continue to dominate in the flagship tier smartphones and tablets.  This report provides estimates of Apple's A-series shipments, revenues and ASPs by chip model from Q1 2010 to Q2 2018.
