The global cellular baseband processor market declined by -12 percent year-on-year to $5.1 billion in Q3 2015.  Except for LTE basebands, all other baseband segments declined year-over-year in Q3 2015. The LTE baseband market held up well and grew 47 percent year-on-year in unit terms during the quarter. Qualcomm, MediaTek and Samsung LSI grabbed the top three total revenue share rankings in Q3 2015. Samsung LSI capitalised on its flagship and mid-tier LTE baseband design-wins at Samsung Mobile. This report tracks the cellular baseband unit shipments, ASPs and revenues of 21 baseband chip vendors across six air interface technologies on a quarterly basis, and includes provisional data up to Q4 2015.
