Cellular baseband shipments grew an impressive 25.5 percent in unit terms and 19.9 percent in revenue terms in 2010 compared to 2009, reaching $13.24 billion in 2010, up from just over $11 billion in 2009. Sales increased at Qualcomm, Infineon, Broadcom, Spreadtrum, Icera, and Marvell, while MediaTek struggled to increase its baseband revenues in 2010. Qualcomm held its revenue market share at 40 percent in 2010, more than the combined revenue of the next three biggest vendors.
