Freescale Plans to Become a Regular US DoD Supplier will be Challenged by NXP Ownership

Please contact us to discuss pricing Contact Us

Report Summary:

NXP Semiconductors has agreed to buy Freescale Semiconductor and merge operations in a deal valuing the combined company at over $40 billion. The deal reflects increasing confidence amongst semiconductor manufacturers with NXP looking to leverage the growth potential that will come from connectivity across the broader automotive, wireless communications and digital consumer segments. Freescale’s 2013 commitment to become a major supplier of GaN and LDMOS technologies to the US DoD will not be helped however if it loses its status as a US-based supplier of semiconductor technology.
