RF GaAs Device Forecast and Outlook: 2020 - 2025 (Data Tables)



Report Summary:

Despite the COVID pandemic that crippled global economies, geopolitical tensions and a global semiconductor shortage, RF GaAs device revenue grew in 2020. Total RF GaAs device revenue (merchant and captive, but excluding foundry) increased by 5.8% from 2020 levels. The pandemic appears to have been beneficial for network revenue as the work from home model contributed to increased network data traffic. The most significant reason for the GaAs revenue increase was increasing deployment of 5G networks and devices with increased RF content. This supports our earlier observations that 5G applications will become the growth engine for RF GaAs device revenue. Driven by 5G device and network deployments, we forecast that revenue for RF GaAs devices will reach an estimated $9.5 billion in 2025.
