2021 RF GaN Device and Foundry Revenue



Report Summary:

RF GaN device revenue grew again in 2021. This was despite continuing economic effects from the COVID-19 pandemic, supply chain constraints, chip shortages and geopolitical events. Base station and defense applications continue to lead the way, but base station revenue declined slightly in 2021 as trade sanctions and Huawei’s efforts to work through inventory finally took a toll. The base station revenue decline affected SEDI, but they remain the overall revenue share leader. Wolfspeed is the dominant RF GaN foundry supplier and coupled with strength in the commercial and defense IDM segments, they are the second largest supplier. Qorvo, based on their position as the leading supplier of RF GaN devices into defense applications, retains its position as the third largest supplier of RF GaN devices.
