On February 11th, 2019, WiTricity announced its acquisition of the assets of HALO from Qualcomm.  In exchange, Qualcomm will hold a minority stake in WiTricity.  The implications are that there will be a single point of supply for electric vehicle wireless charging.  It will also speed-up the standardization process, simplify design and licensing, enable economies of scale and lower cost, as well as potentially increasing the market potential for wireless charging.
