This is an unscheduled forecast update from Strategy Analytics, due to the rapid changes in the underlying vehicle production outlook.

The outlook for 2020 is now bleak, with light vehicle production expected to fall by over 20% from 2019 levels.  Strategy Analytics now expects a cumulative automotive system demand loss of at least $127 billion through 2026 compared with pre-COVID 2019 expectations, with much downside risk.  However, the fundamentals of the market remain sound.  Electronic system dollar content per vehicle will increase at a CAAGR of 5.7% over 2019 to 2024.  This is thus where the bulk of the growth will come from, rather than vehicle production increases.  This growth will be centered on HEV/EV and ADAS technologies.  In such a tight market, gaining market share has never been more important.
