Report Summary:

The demand for automotive sensors will grow at 4.4% CAAGR in dollar terms between 2019 and 2024, despite the considerable fall in the production of light vehicles due to the Coronavirus crisis.  While there will be an adverse effect on most areas, particularly in chassis- and combustion engine-related systems, the effect will be minimal in other areas, such as in active safety and electrified powertrain systems.  The report highlights other growth opportunities and demand trends for sensors in OEM factory-fitted automotive electronic systems in North America, Japan, Europe, Russia, South Korea, Brazil, China, Thailand and Rest-of-the-World (ROW) vehicle production.

This download contains an easy-to-use dashboard that allows high-level visualization of the automotive packaged sensor market.

Note: This forecast does not capture demand from “system-level” sensors such as RADARs and LiDARs.  It does include demand from camera and ultrasonic sensors.  A full assessment of the ADAS sensor market can be seen in the “Advanced Driver Assistance Systems Forecast” series of reports.

Electric Vehicles

Governments and environmentalists alike continue to push, rightfully so, to create cleaner methods of transport. But can electric vehicles fill that requirement? How can consumers be persuaded to switch? And is the automotive supply chain actually ready for this change?
