Report Summary:

As infotainment and ADAS/automation features become increasingly complex, the challenges of safely communicating information to the driver have never been greater.  Heads-Up Displays have the potential to play a major role in the successful deployment of connected and automated vehicles. New HUD technologies are also emerging such as HOE (Holographic Optical Elements), which could produce better and more vivid colors and displays. In addition, Augmented Reality (AR) techniques promise to improve HUD functionality and usability.  However, high manufacturing costs and packaging issues still need to be resolved for mass-market adoption of HUD systems.
