This year’s update is dominated by the short-term impact that the COVID-19 global pandemic is having on the automotive industry.  The outlook for 2020 is now bleak.  Strategy Analytics expects a cumulative automotive system demand loss of at least $78 billion through 2026, with much downside risk.  

However, the fundamentals of the market remain sound.  Electronic system dollar content per vehicle will increase at a CAAGR of 5.4% over 2019 to 2024.  This is thus where the bulk of the growth will come from, rather than vehicle production increases.  This growth will be centered on HEV/EV and ADAS technologies.  In such a tight market, gaining market share has never been more important.
