Report Summary:

The immediate outlook for the both the Chinese and Global automotive industry is highly uncertain.  It is clear that coronavirus has spread significantly beyond the Wuhan region and is starting to have an marked impact on Chinese economic activity.  This spreadsheet thus enables some very top-level automotive scenario planning to be done for 2020 and 2021.  Two scenarios are saved in the spreadsheet that can be re-called. The first is the standard scenario, as published in the January 2020 Automotive System Demand Forecast.  This was prepared before the severity of the virus outbreak was known. The second scenario has been developed by Strategy Analytics to present one view of how coronavirus may impact global light vehicle production and the consequent Automotive System Demand.  Users can also create and save their own scenarios by entering their estimates for light vehicle production growth in each region in 2020 and 2021.
