Report Summary:

The expected outlook for light vehicle production now appears to be improving - but only from a very bleak outlook to a slightly less unfavourable one.  This update thus shows a small improvement over the previous forecast.  Light vehicle production is now expected to fall by 17% from 2019 levels.

The demand for automotive sensors will grow at 4.4% CAAGR in dollar terms between 2019 and 2024, despite the considerable fall in the production of light vehicles in 2020 due to the Coronavirus crisis.  While there will be an adverse effect on most areas, particularly in high-penetration rate chassis- and internal combustion engine-related systems, the effect will be less in other areas, such as in active safety and electrified powertrain systems, which are seeing increases in penetration.
