Strategy Analytics conducted a user evaluation with 12 users of the Parrot ASTEROID infotainment system. The Parrot ASTEROID was the first Android-based head unit and provides several connected apps. The overall design of the Parrot ASTEROID was troublesome for several users. The connected applications generally did not provide a compelling experience, though TuneIn Radio and Roadtrip were seen as potentially adding value. Lessons learned regarding the method of connectivity, which services are included, how services are designed, and its effect on basic entertainment functions are relevant to all connected infotainment systems.
