Report Summary:

Strategy Analytics conducted a UX benchmark evaluation of the Volkswagen Golf VIII infotainment system and relevant HMI.  The minimalist console design, which almost completely eliminates hard key controls, has implications for the UX of many key functions, most notably climate control.  The inclusion of an advanced-for-its-class voice assistant is compelling, but cannot overcome several design flaws within the touchscreen interface.
