Strategy Analytics conducted an expert evaluation of the user experience of the 2016 Volvo XC90. The tablet design with vertical tabs provides easy discovery and access for important features. However first-time users will find it difficult to access different media sources, ADAS features, and the interactive owner’s manual. Speech recognition was inconsistent, working well for destination entry but poorly for calling a contact. Overall the tablet-style display shows promise but additional UX improvements must be made.
