User Experience Benchmark: Ford Edge Active Park Assist

Report Summary:

Strategy Analytics conducted a user experience benchmark of the Active Park Assist system on the 2016 Ford Edge.  Active Park Assist’s display clearly conveys system status to the driver, but the text instructions are unclear at times.  An audible alert is missing at a crucial point in the parking task.  Automated park-out is useful and simple to trigger.  Consumers questioned the practicality of the automated back-in parking feature.  These mixed reactions from consumers led to a middle-of-the-pack IVX score.
