Report Summary:

TechInsights conducted an evaluation of the 21MY Rivian R1T infotainment system, exploring the features of Navigation, Media, Communication and HVAC. Due to its interesting nature, the user interface of other elements such as the wipers and the exterior lights are described in the report as well.

Rivian has been bold and approached their infotainment system with fresh eyes and questioning some of the legacy ways of doing that OEMs have been dragging for too many years without question, as Tesla did and does – quite annoyingly sometimes.
They have created an overall very compelling experience that doesn’t make the user miss mirroring to access either Phone, Navigation or Media experiences, but with some notable flaws in frequently used functions, such as those managed with the steering wheel controls and HVAC.

It is welcome that they dared.
