Report Summary:

Strategy Analytics surveyed current vehicle owners in the US, Western Europe, and China to investigate their current usage of ridesharing and its subsequent impact on intent to purchase another personal vehicle within the next five years. 

- Rideshare usage remains highest in China compared to the US and Western Europe, regardless of age and number of children.

- Older respondents (45 years +) were much more likely to never use rideshare; as were millennials with no children in all regions (but especially in the US and Western Europe). This category were least likely to supplement their current vehicle use with rideshare.

- Overall, rideshare usage increased most in the US from 2017 to 2018. While nearly a third of respondents in the US use ridesharing services at least once every few months in 2018, only a quarter reported doing so in 2017.
