The Connected Car Consumer Interest and Current User Experience
Strategy Analytics surveyed consumers in the US, Western Europe, and China regarding several aspects of the connected vehicle. Practical driving-related services such as real-time traffic and local fuel garnered the most interest across all regions with consumers in China and Western Europe exhibiting greater interest in parking assistance apps. Most smartphone owners in China report using apps while driving, as do half of US and a little over one-third of Western European smartphone owners. Connectivity plays a moderate to very important role when purchasing a vehicle for many consumers, though satisfaction with currently implementations has ample room for improvement.
