Strategy Analytics undertook a worldwide internet-based survey to investigate owners’ satisfaction with the major smartphone mirroring/projection systems Android Auto and Apple CarPlay A total of 1,731 car owners across the US (868), UK, France, Germany, Italy (863 in total) were surveyed.
Customers’ satisfaction with Android Auto and CarPlay continue to steadily increase in the US and Europe, with the latter ahead. This translates into an increased CarPlay usage in Europe, but a slight decline in the US. The NPS for both systems has improved, especially for CarPlay owners in the US. Navigation is the feature that ‘steals’ a higher percentage of exclusive users away from embedded navigation systems. In terms of voice assistant usage, the main car buying segments in both the US and Europe need more convincing to use them, particularly in America.
