Kia UVO Voice Interface Worth the Wait if Users Can Wait for the Beep

Download Report

Report Summary:

Kia finally launched its long-delayed UVO telematics system. UVO allows users to control phone and media features via voice commands, and includes a 4.3” touchscreen display. UVO puts itself at the forefront of voice HMI by allowing for partial grammar which coincides with how users naturally would play media by voice commands and by allowing for one-shot media access from all sources and not just the current source. UVO, however, is hampered by simple design flaws that will frustrate users and by a small touchscreen display that is inferior to systems like MyFord Touch.
