Strategy Analytics undertook a worldwide internet-based survey to investigate car owners’ usage of voice recognition systems. A total of 4,782 car owners across the US (1,572), UK, France, Germany, Italy (1,678 in total), and China (1,532) were surveyed. From this sample, only car owners who had voice recognition systems in their vehicle were asked questions about that particular HMI.
China reinforces its position as the most critical “voice-first” market worldwide, including for the car, with 75% of consumers using voice either daily or weekly whilst in the car. Voice usage seems to stabilise in the West, with slight variations likely to be due to the reduction on the number of commutes due to Covid-19 earlier this year.
