Strategy Analytics surveyed consumers in the US, Western Europe, and China investigating priorities when purchasing a new vehicle. Upfront price was ranked the most important factor in both the US and Western Europe, while Chinese respondents considered ride and handling most important. Both fuel efficiency and workmanship were included in the top five factors by respondents in all regions. Of note, similar to the results of Strategy Analytics’ 2016 survey, safety features were still considered a higher priority than advanced technology features (such as infotainment or autonomous driving features) which are currently gaining consumer awareness in all regions.
