Report Summary:

Strategy Analytics undertook a worldwide internet-based survey to investigate car owners’ satisfaction with their on-board touchscreens.
A total of 4,782 car owners across the US, UK, France, Germany, Italy, and China were surveyed. From this broad sample, only car owners who had integrated touchscreens in their vehicle were asked questions about that particular HMI (3,910 across the 3 markets surveyed).
After several years of decreasing satisfaction worldwide, OEMs appear to have caught up worldwide with the expectations raised by consumer devices.
Whilst Americans’ level of satisfaction remains quite level, the European market is more optimistic and Chinese customers are increasing their levels of satisfaction towards the nemesis: fingerprint smudging and the ease of text entry.
