Strategy Analytics surveyed car owners in the US, Western Europe, and China regarding their interest in voice-based digital assistants for their vehicle.  Automakers have benefitted from a “halo” effect of increasing voice assistant adoption in home and mobile, and some automaker-branded assistants do show some promise.  But automakers continue to lag behind home and mobile tech providers with regard to perception of delivering a compelling voice experience for the car.  Competition will heat up in forthcoming model years, especially in the West with 1 formidable voice assistant from the home/mobile tech space.
